The site of this school was once a plum thicket. Although the school is one of tradition, it is also a leader in new and innovative approaches to meet the current needs of public education. Twenty percent of the current teaching staff are National Board Certified Teachers or currently pursuing their certification.

Many teachers worked in their discipline in industry or management before pursuing their teaching careers. The students are served by three administrators, all of whom spent time in the classroom before taking on administrative responsibilities.
